Gynesexuality refers to a person’s sexual attraction to women, females and/or femininity. The term is rooted in the behavioral sciences. It describes one’s sexual orientation without resorting to the gender binary. It describes attraction without referring to a person as heterosexual or homosexual. This prevents any bias or confusion. At the same time, it makes it easier to describe people who identify as intersex, transgender and genderqueer.
